These days everywhere you look, everyone in the magazines and on TV has the same shiny, glossy, windblown straight hair. It’s perfect. Popstars rock sky high ponytails that fall effortless to their shoulders, actresses flip their flawless locks while walking the red carpet and everyone in movies has straightened hair even in the middle of the apocalypse!
And then there’s those of us who wake up like this.
Time to break out the hair straightener! Of course that’s an added ten minutes to our routine of getting ready, plus we might burn the tips of our ears off and we’re damaging our hair but hey, it’s all worth it for the soft, shiny straight hair at the end, yes?
How about no.
How about we let our hair be as frizzy as we want and stop caring what people think? How about we stop dragging our combs through our beautiful curls and waves and let them bounce around our shoulders like they’re meant to? It’s about time we accepted frizzy hair as something we’re going to have to live with.
But accepting isn’t enough! It’s time to embrace the frizz, and enjoy the fact that our hair doesn’t fit the perfect image of hair that we keep seeing. Our hair is weird, sometimes even a life of its own, and that’s not just okay, it’s pretty cool!
Find out what works best for frizzy hair and adjust your beauty routine accordingly. Enjoy healthier hair when you stop straightening it. Of course, no one has to stop trying to make their hair straight, but no one has to feel like they have to have straight hair to be beautiful either! So work that curly, frizzy, unmanageable hair!
